Approach

The design takes its cues from the materiality of Carlos's work, pairing a clean, understated layout with earthy colors and typography that feel grounded in clay and ceramics. The visual system intentionally stays in the background, allowing the scale, texture, and detail of the work to define the experience.

I built the site in WordPress using custom post types and taxonomies to organize installations and sculptural work into an easy-to-maintain portfolio. Flexible gallery layouts accommodate artwork documented across a wide range of image sizes and proportions, while maintaining a cohesive experience across devices.
